objective to improve the graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry method for the determination of trace lead in radix astragali by choosing suitable matrix modifier. Methods Palladium nitrate, magnesium nitrate, ammonium dihydrogen phosphate, ammonium acetate, ascorbic acid and their combinations were compared. In the determination of lead residues in astragalus membranaceus by atomic absorption spectrometry, the amount of matrix modifier, ashing temperature and atomization temperature were compared. Results Palladium nitrate can effectively increase the ashing temperature and atomization temperature. The optimum dosage of palladium nitrate is 5 μg, ashing temperature is 1 300 ℃, and atomization temperature is 1 900 ℃. The linear correlation coefficient was 0.999 6 in the range of 6~100 μg/L, the recovery rate was 91.5% ~ 103.9%, the detection limit was 0.086 mg/kg,RSD was 2.4%. Conclusion Palladium nitrate is superior to other matrix modifiers. The instrument detection limit and method detection limit of this method are better than those of Chinese Pharmacopoeia.

Abstract:
The difficulty that part of the Palladium powder can not be completely dissolved was solved through the study of the conditions of the amount of dissolved Palladium, the reducing conditions of the active palladium powder, and the conditions of dissolving Palladium with nitric acid, the process conditions for large-scale production of palladium nitrate by activation-dissolution method were established. The particle size, specific surface area and surface morphology of activated Palladium powder showed that the particle size of activated Palladium powder became smaller and the surface area increased, the increase of the dissolution activity of palladium is beneficial to the complete dissolution of palladium powder.
